The Healthiest Face Powder in the World – And You Can Eat It!
Ladies, I have an absolute hit for you today!
Something I’ve been using for about a year, and only recently realized that very few women know about it. I’m talking about a 100% natural, edible face powder – the healthiest one you can possibly use!
I discovered it completely by accident while looking for a natural ingredient to make my body butter less greasy. That’s how I came across arrowroot flour (from Maranta arundinacea – a tropical root vegetable from Indonesia).
It has a silky, ultra-fine texture – just like expensive mineral powders.
- It’s transparent – it won’t change the color of your foundation or whiten your skin.
- It absorbs excess oil and moisture, leaving a matte yet natural finish.
- It doesn’t clog pores, making it perfect for sensitive, acne-prone, or allergy-prone skin.
- It contains no talc, preservatives, or additives – it’s 100% pure and natural.
- And yes – it’s edible! Seriously – it’s a food-grade product, so it’s completely safe even for babies or pregnant women.
Most often, you’ll find it in the kitchen – it’s used in paleo and gluten-free diets. It’s a rich source of phosphorus, potassium, and iron (not that this matters much for your skin… but who knows? 😉). Arrowroot absorbs moisture and smooths the skin – that’s exactly why it works so well as a face powder!
When my first order arrived, I immediately associated its texture with luxury loose powders – it’s incredibly silky and delicate. Once applied to the face, it’s completely transparent and doesn’t alter the color of your foundation. If you have very dark skin, you can try mixing in a bit of cocoa powder. I sometimes do that myself – especially in the summer.
Why is arrowroot the perfect face powder? And who is it for?

It’s ideal for any woman looking for a natural alternative to traditional powders, which often contain talc, silicones, artificial dyes, or fragrances.
If you have sensitive skin that gets clogged or reacts to conventional cosmetics – you absolutely need to give this a try!
How to use this powder for touch-ups during the day, while you’re out?
For a long time, I used to carry a classic loose powder container in my handbag, but it often ended up in a mess – the powder would spill and dirty everything around it. So I started looking for a better solution. I found small, airtight containers on Amazon that fit perfectly in a makeup bag. They often come with a puff, though I personally prefer to use a brush – it gives a more natural finish.
The containers I use look like this: (click on the image to go directly to the Amazon page)
Where to buy arrowroot powder?
You’ll find it in natural food stores, eco-friendly drugstores, or online – make sure to choose an organic product with no added ingredients.
Arrowroot is a true natural gem – light, silky, completely edible powder that mattifies beautifully, won’t clog pores, and is gentle enough even for the most sensitive skin. It can easily replace conventional drugstore powders and can be used in many other skincare applications. Naturally, effectively, and safely – just the way we like it!
